What is a good routine to practice in order to learn to play the guitar?
Is there agood practice routine? I want to learn chords. Are there chords you can practice together that go together. Something like A & D. How long should I practice a day in order to play good very fast. Thanks. I play electric guitar.
You need to practice until your fingertips get sore. eventually, you'll build up your calluses and it wont really be an issue. Learn C, G, Am and D. Practice these in different combinations. Most importantly, make sure you have a tuner and use it. Make sure you have a guitar that has decent action. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you should go to a music store and talk to some people there. I think most people who quit playing guitar right after they first start, quit b/c they have a cheap, piece of junk. And some of those cheap guitars will not stay in tune, or cant even be tuned properly. Plus they are usually harder to play.

just make your own routine, first, learn the fingering to some chords, then move from chord to chord, g to d to e minor. or even g to d to a minor to c. then just go from there, i taught myself and caught on quick. so you should have no problem
