Well I don't know of specific sites, but there are many programs out there to help, some don't cost you more than $10 and they are great for begginers.

I suggest you get a real live teacher. If you're learning on the Internet, you don't have that student/teacher interaction. The Internet can't tell you what you're doing right and wrong. Internet tab is often wrong, don't use it exclusively, it's nice to get an idea of how a song goes, but not 100% reliable. Internet lessons can't show you tecnique, it can't explain things to you like a teacher can. Get into a steady routine of practice, that means practice at least an hour a night, starting out, you'll want to do more than that, to get your fingers to change chords at a quicker speed. Trust me, I've been playing professionally since I was 12, that's over 13 years. Go out and buy yourself a Fender Squire pack, they are a good value for the price, great for beginers, you can upgrade to a better guitar and amp when you get better. Get a good teacher and don't give up. Most people start with an acoustic, the problem is, electrics are easier to play. Trust me. I know what I'm talking about, I learned from one of the best blues men around.

I suggest to start off with an acoustic guitar first.

Thom Yorke wrote: "Anyone can play guitar", but he didn't mention the fact that you have to do it a lot to be any good at it.
Find a music store that offers instruction (most do) and pay for a couple of personal lessons.. then PRACTICE! Get some fundamentals under your belt and then you can experiment and improve on your own.
Remember, you get what you pay for.. hire a teacher and learn.

Step 1: Get a guitar (electric if you prefer)
Step 2: If you got an electric guitar, get an amp (the bigger the better)
Step 3: Plug it in
Step 4: Make sure you have a distortion knob on the amp - if not, then get a distortion pedal
Step 5: Turn everything up all the way.
Step 6: ROCK ON!!!!!!

I used a learn-at-home course and it was both very effective and very inexpensive compared to hiring a guitar teacher. Also, it enabled me to progress at my own pace, practice whenever I had free time.
Best advice i can give you is to go to ReviewsNest.com - the reviews site where i read about the course i bought: http://www.reviewsnest.com/GuitarLessons . They give free reviews for several guitar courses, tell U what to look for in a course, what are the best courses around, and what u get in each course they checked.
I bought the LMG course (their top pick) so i can only vouch for it - I don't know about the other courses. However - the course i bought is excellent, and their review of it was spot-on, and it looks like the other reviews they put for the other courses are good too. LMG - the course i bought - costs $250 (i got it on sale for $200), so it may be too expensive 4U (is it?) but if so - the other courses reviewed cost only $20 to $40 , and also seem great.
Good luck, whatever you choose. Rock On!
Andy.
