What sites/books/cds/tips would you suggest for a beginner to learn an acoustic guitar by himself?

30th December 2008

I am getting a new guitar next week, dont knw anything about it. Just something i wanted to do since long.
Could you suggest anything that could add to my knowledge/experience/interest :)
Thanks!

i would get the ez play book available at most music stores which usually comes with a dvd to watch and learn how to play. also a cord chart will help to remember cords.

I'm in the same boat you are and I've been using ultimate-guitar.com. There's a ton of info on playing as a beginner. Lots of tabs and lessons. You can also get the book Guitar For Dummies. Don't be fooled by the name. It's a real good resource. You also might want to invest in some lessons.
